LK Advani files nomination from Gandhinagar

BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate LK Advani filed his nomination from Gandhinagar, Gujarat. He was accompanied by Gujarat CM Narendra Modi and other senior leaders. Advani, a four-time MP from Gandhinagar, is seeking re-election for the fifth time. He filed his nomination exactly at 12.39 PM, which was suggested by the astrologers. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Rama had killed Ravana exactly at 12.39 PM, which was chosen by Advani to file the nomination.

LK Advani was the Union Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of the country during former Atal Behari Vajpayee. He is considered as the "Iron Man" of the BJP.

The opposition has been gunning for head over his alleged involvement in Babri Mosque demolition case. However, Advani has emerged as stronger than ever in the party after the retirement of Atal Behari Vajpayee from active politics.

Although the BJP started its campaign on a shaky note, the party is gaining popularity among the voters with every passing day. Now the battle between UPA and NDA has become even and it could tilt towards anyone when the poll dates come nearer.
